SINGIZA Music Ministries, a student music ministry based at the National University of Rwanda (NUR) in Huye District, is organising the launch of its debut album ‘Tukumenye’.

The album encompasses 14 singles, produced by producers Pastor P of Narrow Road Production and Aron Nitunga from East Africano Sound.

Speaking at the press conference, Luc Buntu, the Music Director of Singiza Music Ministries, said that the group was initiated in 1997 by NUR students. It consists of three departments; Orchestra, drama and a traditional dance troupe.

"Singiza Music Ministries was founded with a vision to build altars of praise to God in people’s hearts through praise and worship,” Buntu said.

"It is in the light of this vision, that many prayers, praise and worship events were organised in Rwanda, but also in other countries like Congo DR and Burundi,” he added.

Singiza Music works in partnership with other churches in Rwanda. ‘Tukumenye’ is the group’s first album since its formation with the objective of raising awareness among people, especially the youth addicted to alcohol, drugs and pornography to surrender their lives to God.

"We pray God pours his spirit to people who are absent minded to wakeup and, be thirst to know God and leave all those things that might destroy their lives and the nation”, Buntu said.

Nadine Ishimwe, the President of Singiza Music Ministries said the group would soon release an accompanying video.

"We are organising church tours and we also intend to visit Christians in their respective churches. We shall put up live concerts without the country and in the region in a campaign to market the album,” she noted.

She added: "In addition, we are organising various Worship Nights in different universities, schools, orphanages and in prisons to spread the gospel of God.”

Vanessa Simbi, the former president of Singiza Music Ministries, said the group has previously organised various concerts including Praise Explosion, Open Heaven and Mercy Outreach.

Daniel Ledama, the Vice president of the NUR based gospel music group said that the launch will be held at Christian Life Assembly (CLA) in Kigali, before the end of the year
