I wish to extend my thanks to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni of Uganda for delivering on his pledge of US$300,000 (about Rw180m) towards the construction works at a school in Kicukiro District of Kigali city during his state visit in July.

His gesture shows that leaders should not only make pledges but ought to go ahead honour them, which sets a good precedent.

My hope is that the money will be put into good use by responsible authorities and be fully accounted for, as a country that does not tolerate corruption.
