Despite the rolling out of regular sensitisation campaigns, there are often reports of domestic wrangles, which is a sad state of affairs.

This kind of behaviour is intolerable in today’s society. Nobody reserves the right to maim or kill a spouse or anyone else. Local authorities should be involved in addressing family conflicts.

Everyone should ensure that women and children are safe. Police and local leaders should work towards completely stemming GBV by increasing sensitisation campaigns on its dangers. 

Rwanda has built a reputation of attaching high value to women and this should be reflected on all fronts including complete elimination of GBV.
