Editor,
Officials from the Ministry of Education were quoted in The New Times complaining that some institutions failed to comply with a new directive that requires all employers to verify the academic certificates of job applicants prior to their employment.
It is wrong to recruit workers without checking their education background. We read stories of employees who work for years but later get sacked after it emerges that they had duped their employers by using fake academic credentials.
Any form of corruption must be fought collectively.
I am sure if all Rwandans volunteered information, forged academic papers would be a thing of the past.
