Beach Volleyball duo Olivier Ntagengwa and Venuste Gatsinzi won another gold medal for Rwanda National Police (RNP) at the 2023 Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) Games after beating fellow Rwandan finalists Fred Muvunyi and Emmanuel Mugisha in Monday’s final held at Tuza Inn in Nyamata.

Ntagengwa and Gatsinzi, who were part of RNP Team A won the final by 2-1 sets ((18-21, 21-19 and 15-11) to lift the trophy and a champions medal while Muvunyi and Mugisha of RNP Team B won silver as runners-up.
Burundian team consisting of brothers Don Diamel Ndayisaba and Lionel Ndayisaba defeated the Kenyan team of Nicholas Lagat and Nicholas Matui 2-1 (19-21, 21-15, 15-11) to take home bronze.
As a result, Rwanda Police Team A topped the ranking, followed by Rwanda Police Team B, Police National du Burundi emerged third while Kenya Police Service finished in the fourth place.
Rwanda also won gold in handball after beating Uganda 41-29 in the final held at BK Arena on Monday. The home side had also beaten Kenya 36-25 in the first game.
Beach Volleyball and Handball are among 13 sports disciplines contested for during the 2023 EAPCCO Games that Rwanda has been hosting since March 21.
EAPCCO Games brought together eight countries namely Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia and host nation Rwanda.
