The Secretary General of the local basketball federation (Ferwaba) Jean Lucien Mugabo yesterday said that the body would convene to review the team’s recent results. Vaceslav Kavedzija has been handling the men’s team since 2007 while Nenad Amanovic only took over the ladies’ side in August.

Vaceslav Kavedzija has been handling the men’s team since 2007 while Nenad Amanovic only took over the ladies’ side in August.
"There is nothing good to say about the teams’ recent performances. They posted bad results in the All Africa Games as well as the just ended Fiba-Africa championships and the coaches have to take responsibility for that.”
The men’s team finished 8th in Maputo and could only muster a 12th spot finish in the Afrobasket competition.
The women team on the other hand finished 8th in Maputo and 9th in the Afrobasket event.
