The Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR), upheld  the sentences of former businessman Yusuf Munyakazi and former Rwandan military officer, Lt Col Ephreim Setako.

I followed the trials of the duo and I can say the ruling was fair and sincere because it was based on undisputable evidence from Rwanda.

The tribunal rejected appeals by the defence of the two convicts, calling for their acquittal.

All criminals must be punished. This will end a culture of impunity. In this case, justice was delayed but not denied. As they say, better late than never.
