Friedrich Nietzsche wasn’t wrong when he said that a without music, life would be a mistake. With this in mind I want to help you find the best music system for your home.

Andrew Muvunyi, a dealer in electric appliances, says system’s functions matter more than brand and authenticity.

SONY MHC-RG121

This Sony model is an all-purpose mini system. It is a three CD changer, with an AM and FM radio tuner, and a double cassette play. The model is not DVD compatible but able to make an impression in audio performance.

This Sony model also has a radio data system, which allows transmit additional useful information to a tuner thereby displaying the station name, an outline of the current programme and/or the current time. But this function only operates while on the FM waveband.

It is also has a single touch control that automatically positions the tape to the beginning of the current track, or to the start of the next track. It’s on the markets for Frw300,000.

JVC UX-DAB11

The JVC model is digitalized with an FM and AM radio waveband tuner that does not need an antenna. It has a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connectivity and audio input / output for external devices, and is compatible with MP3 and minidisk, which it can playback. It is also a one CD player with two speakers.

It is not DVD and cassette compatible. With its digital display, a clock and alarm are easy to set. An on and off power timer is a useful feature. As the cheapest of today’s option, the JVC model costs Frw250,000.

PANASONIC SC-VK460

This latest Panasonic is a 5 disc changer playing one after the other with a super sound equalizer after a single touch of a button.

Its dynamic sound function gives a variety options of either heavy, clear, soft, disco, live or hall. Its speakers have different effects.

It has a digital programmable timer displaying play, record or sleep. And with its remote control this is really easy to use. All Panasonic TV sets are compatible.

With its disc checking using the progressive scan, the Panasonic plays DVDs from all regions and all CDs; MP3, video CDS among others.
