APR coach Ernie Brandts believes the new league will not be a walk in the park as was the case last season.

The 55-year-old has a stronger squad at his disposal after signing eight new players in Olivier Karekezi, Seleman Ndikumana, Papy Faty, Alex De Avila, Douglas Lopes, Ali Ponjo, Dan Wagaluka and Dan Kavuma, but still expects a tough run this year.

"The league will be very competitive this time round. Every team wants to prove a point against us. I expect even the smaller teams to do everything possible to win against us,” the Dutchman, who has also expressed interest in the Amavubi job, warned.

Brandts also warned that the likes of AS Kigali and La Jeunesse would push the big four clubs (APR, SC Kiyovu, Police and Rayon Sport).

After three matches, APR tops the league charts with nine points. Police are second with seven points.
