IT was sweet revenge for Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) as they came from a set down to beat APR in the women final of the Coupe du Rwanda.

RRA, who lost to the army side in last year’s final, looked like they were on the same course as they lost the first set 10-25. However, the tax collectors turned tables on their rivals as they fought back to win the second and third sets by a similar score 25-23 and the fourth set 25-19.

Despite the defeat, there was still something to smile about in the APR camp as they retained the men’s crown following a 3-1 set victory over National University of Rwanda (NUR).

But APR coach Sammy Mulinge was a relieved man after seeing his side taken taken to the wall in the third (33-31) and fourth (27-25) sets.

It was APR’s third Coupe du Rwanda title. Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) top the list with nine titles while NUR has won it twice.
