Editor,

This is with reference to a story that appeared in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled, "100 more refugees return from DRC,”

In the story, one of the refugees said that they were shocked that the country is stable as they were continuously told that they would be killed if they returned home.

There is no reason for Rwandans to keep suffering in other countries yet if they returned they would enjoy they stability and contribute to the ongoing transformation process.

The Ministry of Disaster Preparedness and Refugee Affairs is visiting various countries that host Rwandan refugees to encourage them to voluntarily return home.

Such visits should continue as it appears there is still misinformation about the country’s stability. Former refugees should also tag along to give testimonies to those who are still reluctant to return.
