As heavy downpour disrupts two league matches

Primus League

Sunday results

Police 3-0 Espoir
Etincelles 1-0 Nyanza
Amagaju 1-0 La Jeunesse
AS Kigali 0-0 Mukura (match abandoned)
Rayon Sports 0-1 Marines (match abandoned)

AFTER mid-week’s goalless draw against SC Kiyovu, Police returned to winning ways with a commanding 3-0 win over Espoir yesterday.

Last season’s top scorer Meddie Kagere opened the scoring before a quick brace from Eric Ndahayo sealed the points.

The result moved Police into second place with seven points while Espoir, who have now lost three consecutive matches, dropped to 11th place and could drop further to the bottom of the table if Marines salvage something out of their rematch with Rayon Sport.

The game was one of two Primus league matches called off yesterday due to heavy downpour.

By the time of abandonment, the Rubavu-based side was 1-0 up thanks to an own goal by Frank Makengo.

The AS Kigali-Mukura game was also called off for the same reasons and the two games have been rescheduled for this afternoon.

At Umuganda stadium, Etincelles climbed to third place following a hard fought 1-0 victory over Nyanza.

Meanwhile, La Jeunesse dropped to fifth position following a 0-1 away defeat against Amagaju. Amagaju are seventh with four points.
