Police officers trained in investigations

NYAGATARE/GATSIBO-Sixteen police officers from the department of criminal investigation in Gatsibo and Nyagatare districts completed four-day training on crime investigation.The training was held at Moon’s Charity in Nyagatare Sector.

During the training, participants were taught how to improve investigation skills, filing systems of criminal cases, among others.

Vitali Ntagengwa, the head of prosecution at Nyagatare intermediate court, who trained the participants, reminded them that their accuracy in filing cases facilitates prosecution to accomplish its work effectively.

"If you do your work accurately, it helps prosecutors as well,” he said.

Ntagengwa added that ever since Police criminal investigators started training last year, tremendous improvement in criminal investigation procedures had been registered.

In his closing remarks, Nyagatare District Police commander, Chief Inspector David Kinani, urged participants to practice what they learnt in their fields, reminding them to always abide by the law.

Participants addressed lack of transport means as the main hindrance to their daily endeavours.
