Whereas several efforts have been made by the Ministry of Education to improve the reading culture, a lot more needs to be done.

I spend a lot of time "fighting” with my teenage kids because reading books at home is something they don’t like.

Something must be done so that we have a reading generation. In the same vein, I wish to commend all people at all levels of society who are helping to promote literacy in Rwanda.

Kids today spend a lot of time loitering in the neighbourhood instead of reading.

As teachers and parents, we need to tell our kids that knowledge is indeed the basis of nation building and by extension all civilization.
