MUHANGA- Five people have been arrested in connection with a grenade attack on a businessman in Rongi Sector, Muhanga District.

Security officials said that two grenades were thrown at Vincent Harerimana’s truck
Reg. No RAB 608W in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

No one was injured in the attack.

Residents said that the motive of the attack was not clear. However, it is alleged that the suspects had a long standing conflict with the 38-year old businessman.

The suspects are now in police custody in Nyamabuye as investigations continue.

The area where the incident took place is known for having had numerous rebel activities in the past years. It is suspected that the grenades used in the attack were acquired during that period.
