APR president Alex Kagame has ruled out the possibility of vying for the Post of Ferwafa president.

The position fell vacant last week when Brig. Gen. Jean Bosco Kazura unexpectedly resigned citing personal reasons.

Elections for the post together with that of Chief Executive Officer, which also fell vacant after Jules Kalisa’s resignation a day after, have been scheduled for October 22nd.

"I’m not interested in running for president because of my busy schedule. I also don’t see us (APR) fronting anyone for the position this time round,” Kagame said.

It will be the first time that APR has not fronted a candidate for the position since the club’s inception 16 years ago.

According to Ferwafa’s acting president Raoul Gisanura, some of the requirements to run for president include being a Rwandan national aged over 30 years,  possessing at least an A’ Level certificate and not having served a prison sentence of six months and above.
