Editor,
Last week, I read with sadness a story in your paper about a man in Nyabihu District who was killed by his spouse. True, men are more hostile, but the lesson here is that men are also victims of domestic violence.
There are several disturbing cases of domestic violence against men in villages. The only problem is that most men unlike women choose to ‘die silently’ for fear of embarrassment.
What happened in Nyabihu can also happen anywhere given the manner in which family conflicts are addressed. Violence against men should equally be addressed.
Meanwhile, the woman has been imprisoned for the crime, but now where does this leave the children?
I hope something is being done to help the children.
