Music fans turned out in their thousands for the Primus Guma Guma Superstar final concert held at Amahoro Stadium on Saturday.

Packed with mammoth crowds, the audience was entertained by artistes, who participated in the Primus Guma Guma Superstar competition with Jamaican-American singer Sean Kingston hogging the limelight.

The Primus Guma Guma Superstar final concert was simply a musical paradise and the heavy rain did not even dampen the mood of the crowd.

Dr. Claude, the first performer, hit the stage at exactly 7:40pm and, the crowd was obviously warm and ready for the show. But it was the infectious melodies of Kingston that grabbed the massive, hypnotising the crowd.

Kingston hit the stage at 10:25pm, clad in camouflage shorts, a waistcoat, and white T-shirt. He performed for almost one and a half hours, belting out his tracks such as, ‘Me Love’, ‘Face Drop’, ‘911’, ‘Shorty I could take you there’, ‘Dirty love’ and ‘Beautiful girls’, which had the crowds screaming and dancing wildly.

However, although Kingston did not perform live, the revellers enjoyed his show.

Not to be out done, Tom Close proved to the crowds why he is the Primus Guma Guma Superstar 2011 title holder.

Close, who was at first booed, pulled out of his bag of R&B tricks an amazing performance and wowed the crowd with his tuneful voice and great renditions of songs like ‘Ndacyagukunda.’

The were non-stop rocket ride performances, as the artistes, including King James and Jay Polly, delivered hit after hit inoculating the crowd with their musical therapy.

"I am very wet, the rain is too much, but I cannot go because I am enjoying the concert,” Alex Nkusi, one of the fans at the concert noted.

The security was tight with several security personnel deployed to ensure that the show went on well.

At this point, the organisers, Primus and the East African Promoters, seemed to be overwhelmed by the success of the show, despite the heavy rain.

Meanwhile, during a press conference held at Kigali Serena Hotel earlier in the day, Kingston had vowed to entertain his Rwandan fans.

"It is my first time to come to Rwanda and I am so happy to perform in this beautiful country,” Kingston said.

Speaking to journalists, Kingston also promised to support Tom Close, who is expected to travel to the U.S this month, to record a song and its video with the former.
