THE official sponsors of the National Primus League, Bralirwa are hoping for a more competitive league this time round.

The league kicks off this Saturday and the Primus brand manager Jean Pierre Uwizeye has challenged other clubs to rise up to the challenge.

Last season, APR sealed the title with a couple of matches still to play.

"We call upon clubs to show more urgency as far as winning the league is concerned,” he said.

"We were impressed with the level of activity in the transfer window and hope that the new league will be more competitive.”

Besides the Rwf17million injected in last week’s pre-season Primus Cup, Bralirwa have committed Rwf130m for the new season were Rwf35m is to be shared amongst the twelve league clubs.

The league kicks off tomorrow with a tie between defending champions APR and new league boys Espoir at Kigali Regional stadium.

Other matches on cards include a clash between Kiyovu and Nyanza at Mumena stadium; Police host Amagaju at Kicukiro while Etincelles play away to Mukura.

On Sunday, Marines will entertain La Jeunesse before what is expected to be a thrilling contest between Rayon Sport and AS Kigali at Kigali Regional Stadium.

The first round will end on February 12, 2012 while the second leg will run from March 3 to May 12.
