THE national rugby federation has cause to smile after a donation of rugby boots worth Rwf 3m from the Scotland Rugby Union.
According to the Technical Director of the federation Gerald Nsenga, the boots will be distributed to all the clubs in the country, secondary schools, Silverbacks (national men’s team) and the Blackbacks (bational women’s team).
"Every club will get 15 pairs, silverbacks and Blackbacks will get 30 and 20 pairs respectively, while 100 pairs will be distributed to secondary schools.
Players in the clubs have been struggling because of lack of proper boots, some have been using sneakers, worn out boots, while the others play without any,” Nsenga said highlighting the importance of the donation.
The donation was a brain child of former Scotland rugby team coach Frank Hadden and the Development manager of the Edinburg referee society Collin Britt who visited the country last year.
