APR’s Dutch coach Ernest Brandts has set his team a target of winning a continental title ahead of the start of the 2011/12 Primus National Football league, which gets underway this Saturday.

Brandts told Times Sport yesterday that the club’s ambition in the upcoming season is winning every title that the team competes for, including the Africa Champions League.

"We are starting the season with big ambition. We want every title be here in Rwanda or in Africa. We want to stage a good performance in the Champions league and be able to at least reach money-spinning rounds,”

"We have struggled to get past the preliminary round but we hope to perform better in the next campaign,” noted the Dutchman.

Meanwhile, Malawian striker Victor Nyirenda will start playing competitively for APR after one month as he recovers from a knee injury.

The Malawian international went under the knife on his knee last month. Though he trains with the team, Brandts believes, he will only be considered for the military side in month’s time after ensuring that he has made full recovery.

The twelve-time league champion, who won the Primus pre-season tournament last weekend, kicks off their league campaign this Saturday against new league entrants Espoir.
