MUHANGA- Another child drowned in River Nyabarongo in Muhanga District, days after a similar death was recorded.
Eleven year old Angelique Nzayisenga drowned last Sunday evening in Rugendabari Sector, north of Muhanga District.
"Nzayisenga was swept down the river as she was going to fetch water,” a local leader said.
This is the second child to die under similar circumstances within a period of one week.
Earlier last week, Eric Nsengimana 9, drowned as he and two other children swam in the same river stretch in Kiyumba Sector.
Commenting on the deaths, security officials observed this as a worrying trend, underlining that parents should be more responsible.
Last month, a group of four children drowned in the same river on a section traversing Kamonyi District near Kigali City.
