The driver of the delivery truck, Vitali Nsabyimana, 35, sustained major injuries and was rushed to a nearby clinic with the help of Police and Kabgayi hospital ambulance.
Traffic police, however, had to intervene and hold back the hundreds of on-lookers in order to avoid any looting from taking place.
The cargo belonged to Valentine Nyirangirumatse, the manager of SMARCOP-distributors of Bralirwa drinks.
"The accident caused a major loss in millions of francs, it is not easy to imagine the loss,” she said.
