THE national rugby federation needs Rwf 20m to host the CAR 15s tournament scheduled for month according to the body’s vice president in charge of finance and marketing Alex Araire.

Four teams that include Burundi, DRCongo, Reunion Republic and Rwanda will take part in the eight day tournament that will run from October9-16.

"We need that money for logistics for the teams during their entire stay in the country and our team’s preparations,” Araire told this paper yesterday.

According to Araire, the federation is also talking to various corporate companies like MTN, Tigo, Inyange and Ernest and Young to try and raise their budget.

A total of 35 players are currently training at Rugunga playground and they will be trimmed down to 25 next week according to Araire who also added that veterans like Joseph Bugabo and Booker Klemantingo had been recalled.

Rwanda won last year’s event after defeating Burundi in the finals.
