Employees of Kigali City Council (KCC) have pledged to deliver good services by addressing major challenges that the city is still faced with.

Kigali City councillors, Executive Committee members, and leaders from city districts made the commitment at the conclusion of a two-day retreat this weekend in Rubavu.

City employees committed themselves to challenges mainly to do with technical capabilities, strategic issues, citizen’s engagement and working relationships guided by the same vision and the spirit of teamwork.

In his wrap up remarks, the Minister of Local Government James Musoni welcomed actions proposed by the Council Members to address highlighted man issues and promised them that MINALOC, in liaison with other relevant institutions, will be there to support and facilitate the City leadership address the challenges.

Musoni reminded the Councillors that Rwanda is where it is today as a result of its revolutionary, transformational, strong, committed and visionary leadership and contribution from every citizen.

"Rwanda’s current leadership has been guided by vision, people’s will, patriotic and revolutionary spirit so as to pursue, achieve and sustain our Country’s development.” Musoni said
 
He added that for the remaining social, economic and political challenges, the country would overcome them by the strong commitment, sacrifice, selflessness, innovation, hardworking, vision and team work.

The minister appealed to the councillors to be guided by strategic thinking and orientation of the development of City of Kigali, to have oversight control and a functioning of Executive Committee.
