Children always remember the moments of fun and joy shared with friends. Such times as birthday celebrations, family parties, trips, games, summer camps make children happy.

Today, there are some parents who still believe that preparing a birthday party for a child is wastage of time and money.

Tascha Amenissou turned five years on Monday 22nd, August, 2011. Her mummy has a different view.

"I enjoy celebrating my child’s birthdays every year. Tascha has albums right from her first year until today.

"Spending money on her birthday is not really a big deal, it is another way of showing my child that I appreciate, love, value and cherish her, "said mummy Tascha.

She further told the Children’s Times that a birthday party may not necessary be a luxurious expensive treat as it is widely believed.

"Just a little extra something on that day can do, a few sweets, may be even juice or biscuits that she can share with her friends can mean a lot to her life and she will always treasure those moments she spends with her friends share that. And be there to be part of it. A child’s birthday party does not really need a lot,” she said

She encouraged parents to always remember celebrating their children’s birthdays for it is one of the gifts parents would give their children.
