GATSIBO-The Association of Pentecostal churches of Rwanda (ADPR) in Gatsibo District has added its voice to the family planning drive, by training over 200 youth in family planning methods and the fight against HIV/Aids.

The two-day training was conducted in collaboration with World Vision Rwanda.

Participants were drawn from ADPR’s Kiziguro, Gorora and Rugarama parishes.

Participants were also trained on the role of youth in implementing government programs.

Pastor Everest Kagina of ADPR-Gorora parish said that the training underscored their role towards the country’s development.

"This training is part of our contribution to the government’s programs. We intend to conduct more training in various fields,” he said.

The district Vice Mayor in charge of Social Affairs, Esperance Uwimpuhwe called on the youth to share what they learnt with youth in their communities.

"As Christians, remember to act like the 12 disciples that spread God’s message to the world…you should emulate these disciples by promoting government programs in the entire community,” she said.
