Editor,
I read an article in The New Times, this week, about a meeting held by traffic police with Taxi-Moto operators, where the law enforcers urged them to comply with traffic rules and ensure cleanliness, as a way of delivering quality services.
Senior Police officers emphasized that helmets are paramount in protecting both riders and passengers and must be worn whenever riding.
I witnessed an accident, a couple of days ago, where a passenger cheated death, thanks to the helmet he was donning.
However, ensuring road safety should not be left to the police alone. I am of the view that the responsibility should be supported by all Rwandans, because we are the beneficiaries.
To our esteemed taxi-moto riders; your lives as well as those of the passengers are so invaluable and indeed irreplaceable.
