There is this excitement that comes with every public holiday. Teenagers are always gladly looking forward to that day when they do not have to go to school. Today being Eid-al-Fitr, is one of those days when you have a break away from school. However, if one does not have a plan for it, it might end up being one of those other ordinary boring holidays.

That should not be the case though, since there are so many interesting things that teenagers can do to enjoy the Eid holiday.
For girls, helping out in the kitchen is a great idea. Usually mothers prefer to handle the cooking on such days due to their expertise in preparing some dishes.
If one helps out in the kitchen, they can learn how to prepare new dishes. It is always exciting for every girl when they learn how to cook something they did not know before.
Sandra Kentaro, a senior three student says she enjoys cooking with her mum on such holidays and that comes with other privileges.
"Besides learning how to prepare certain dishes, mum always lets me test the food before lunch is served. I do enjoy that bit and my brothers are always pleading to be in the kitchen for that reason,” Kentaro says.
Such days are an opportunity to re-organize and re-arrange your bedroom or home. One can change the look of their house or bedroom. This can give your house a new look by just playing around with the furniture.
One can change the position of the T.V set, chairs and change the whole arrangement. The same can be done with the bedroom.
Since teenagers always get engrossed with school work and the many assignments, this would be a good time to learn something new outside class work.
This can be done by reading through Newspapers and magazines. Through reading these, teens can learn about what is happening in and outside the country.
It is always brilliant to be informed and updated about what is going on around the world.
Radio and television are also good sources of information so one can decide to watch TV programs or listen to radio.
However, it would be good to have some fun on such a day besides being helpful at home.
Catching a movie can be entertaining. On such a day, teenagers can watch that movie they have been hearing about from friends. This could be a good day to watch it.
Eid day should not be wasted away, plan for it and you will enjoy it.
