The national career Rwandair, over the weekend, took delivery of one of its two new Boeing 737-800NB aircrafts .

The purchase makes Rwandair the first African airline to own and operate the Boeing Sky Interior series, which boasts of cove lighting and curving architecture that creates a distinctive entryway.

This is a massive investment that would not have come at a better time.

The Government has put in place various reforms that have made the country ideal for doing business. This has enabled an impressive massive increase in the number of companies, both domestic and foreign.

To maintain the growth of investment, a well developed air transport system is imperative and the investment made by Rwandair will go a long way to not only facilitate the existing businesses, but also attract new ones.

Looking back 17 years, very few airlines landed at Kanombe International Airport. Today, the airport is extremely busy which represents the remarkable progress the country is registering.

With plans underway to construct a bigger airport to accommodate the increasing traffic, opportunities for Rwandair to expand are immense.

With such wise investments, there is no doubt that the country’s vision to have a middle income status is drawing closer to reality.
