MUSANZE - The Korean International Cooperation Agency-KOICA, yesterday, donated 43 computers and an electric board to Ecole Secondaire Technique Busogo-ESTB. 

The equipment worth US$ 30,000 was attached to the Digital Architectural Drafting-DAD Laboratory, for students undertaking construction and Engineering.

According to Stanley Toh, an Architectural Specialist, and a volunteer ICT teacher at ESTB, who initiated the idea and designed the DAD laboratory on behalf of KOICA, all the materials were imported from South Korea.

‘’I have had a good experience teaching here. I found only five computers here which were all junk. I designed the project and forwarded it to KOICA, which they approved. The most important thing for a technical high school is practice,’’ Toh said.

In his message during the inauguration of the DAD Lab, the school’s headmaster, Jerome Habanabakize, commended KOICA for the support offered to the school.

‘’A friend in need is a friend indeed. The modern and powerful computers will enable students to easily learn to draw using the programs which have been installed,’’ Habanabakize said.

There are nine volunteers from Korean International Cooperation Agency teaching  in different schools in Musanze District.

Ecole Secondaire Technique Busogo-ESTB, has over 700 students with 431 boys and 271 girls  who undertake  either construction or engineering.
