AMAVUBI coach Sellas Tetteh is not considering punishing defender Mbuyu Twite for snubbing national team call ups for residential training.
The APR skipper has for the second time delayed reporting to the training camp without giving clear reason.
Before Amavubi’s qualifier against Burundi in June, the versatile defender, who can also play in the middle of the pack, played hide and seek with Ferwafa officials and only reported to camp a few days before the crucial tie, which Rwanda lost 3-1.
Although he refused to reveal why he had delayed, reports suggested that the federation’s delayed payment of players’ bonuses was the reason.
Times Sport’s investigations have revealed that the players are not owed any money, and now Tetteh is hesitant on his next course of action on one of key players.
"Let us wait and see if he finally shows up,” was all Tetteh said yesterday after the national side’s 1-0 win over Kiyovu in a friendly. Asked who would replace him, the Ghanaian said "it is too early to confirm now.”
Ferwafa’s Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa was not available for comment by press time.
