Editor,

This is with reference to the very interesting article by Fred Oluoch - Ojiwah, in The New Times, August, 22 titled "Rwanda back on track after 2009 turbulence - ADB report.”

Rwanda’s good governance and strong economic policies enable the country to weather all storms, including the major turbulence experienced across the globe in the year 2009.

I think the African Development Bank report, has put in proper perspective, the situation not only in Rwanda but throughout the African continent.

The fact that the country was able to register a real GDP growth of 7.4 per cent in the year 2010 clearly indicates that the Government of Rwanda under the
leadership of President Paul Kagame was able to put the country back on track despite the serious global economic crisisRwanda is mainly an agricultural economy and the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources is doing a great job in exploring all avenues of enhancing agricultural production with major irrigation projects like the one in Nyagatare which is now under way.

The New Rwanda will continue to shine in her quest for excellence.
