Star Africa Media, branded as Star Times, a Chinese digital television company operating a pay television service, is set to launch three new channels to celebrate their three years of operations in Rwanda. Star Times’ Sales and Marketing Director, Eric Liang Liu told Business Times, that the company has decided to improve the quality of programs as one way of appealing to its clients.
Star Africa Media, branded as Star Times, a Chinese digital television company operating a pay television service, is set to launch three new channels to celebrate their three years of operations in Rwanda.
Star Times’ Sales and Marketing Director, Eric Liang Liu told Business Times, that the company has decided to improve the quality of programs as one way of
appealing to its clients.
"Our programs improvement is always based on our client’s priority and we are set to also add movie channels by November this year,” Liu explained.
Liu further announced that by October, Star Times would set up operations in Gisenyi. "We are partnering with Orinfor, the national public broadcaster to
bring our services to the people of Gisenyi”, he said, adding that the service would cover the whole country by 2012.
The company’s national rollout program is meant to cost US$29million. Currently, the pay TV service has more than 35,000 registered users.
