Planning a head of your school day keeps students organised.

This is what my mother tells me frequently, "Do not be a scatterbrain”. Though I resent it a lot, I have realized over time that her advice is correct.

A scatter brain is a person who is disorganized and does not work with concentration. Some people leave things scattered around, do not do any work in advance or make efforts to organize their work.

They just start their work when it is absolutely necessary and finish it anyhow.

The result is chaos and mental stress. Work poorly done does not give the desired results and is frustrating. However, people do not realize that all that was needed to be done was little timely preparation of the work before starting to do it.

Let us look at small examples. A student has to leave for school or university at 7:00 a.m. He sleeps late maybe, after watching a movie and morning starts with great confusion.

He arranges the school bag anyhow; just crams in his books and other things, wears uniform hurriedly and leaves. Now in the ensuing confusion he may forget some important book or papers at home.

This example indicates a disorganized and confused mind, i.e. a scatter brain. A person may be very intelligent but till he/she becomes organized, set goals in life will elude them.

Most people know theoretically that work has to be organized, but few try it practically. Later on, chaotic work becomes part of their habit. Not getting the desired results makes them frustrated and they look for excuses to cover their folly.

Before starting any work, it should be well defined and planned.  All material needed should be kept ready at hand so that no time is wasted looking for things.

Once initiated, any work should be done with full concentration to the end. Initiating work then leaving it midway to start something else leads to chaos. Therefore, such habits should be avoided.

Well organized work definitely brings recognition and success to a person. It may take time but it is never unrewarded.

Therefore, one should avoid being a scatter brain and work with full attention.
