Allow me to comment on a story that appeared in yesterday’s issues of The Newtimes titled: "Report cites mismanagement in Muhanga health centre.”

Officials implicated should be punished because it is illegal to swindle public funds. The District Council Committee in charge of Economic Development which unearthed this scandal should extend their audit beyond health centres.

While the council’s efforts to expose the mess are commendable, I don’t agree with the committee that resolved that those found responsible should only be discontinued from their jobs.

They should also be charged and if found guilty they should be punished.
