Editor,

Allow me to respond to a story that appeared in The New Times last week indicting that Rwanda had retained her position as an ideal host for businesses in the East African Community (EAC), by emerging the top in the first ever business rankings conducted by the EAC Secretariat.

Amidst economic troubles around the world when investors are more careful when it comes to investing, the report dubbed "Doing Business in the East African Community 2011,” puts Rwanda in the pole position and a chosen destination.

Rwanda continues to sail amidst all these troubles. The doing business reforms in Rwanda are paying off.

This is also recognised by the World Bank. There is no doubt that Rwanda is worth trying if one wants to invest their money.

Investment services are available and the environment is conducive. Commitment at all levels, from the highest levels of leadership to the grassroots has helped a lot. An investor recently told me that investing in Rwanda is not a gamble.
