Seven young Rwandans, over the weekend, received the highly coveted award - Celebrating Young Rwandan Achievers’ Awards (CYRWA) – given by Imbuto Foundation, under the patronage of the First Lady, Mrs. Jeannette Kagame.

The winners included entrepreneurs, athletes, artistes, leaders as well as humanitarian workers.

The Awards ceremony followed a youth forum that brought together young people from Rwanda and the continent, under the theme ‘Ambassadors of Change – It Starts with You.’, also organized by Imbuto Foundation.

The events are among the many initiatives in place to encourage the youth to be more involved in the transformation of the country, as well as the continent.

Rwanda is a country on the move and with the majority of the population below the age of 30, their contribution in the ongoing transformation process will take the country to the next level.

The Government has invested a lot in youth development, as a way of preparing the next generation for the challenges ahead. They are intergraded into the entire government structures, making them part of the country’s decision making process.

This has seen young Rwandans take on senior positions in Government and the private sector.

The available opportunities are immense and nothing can stop the youth from achieving success, for their own good as well as the country and continent.
