This was disclosed by RCS Commissioner General, Paul Rwarakabije, during a meeting that took place at the institution’s offices at Kisementi, Remera Sector.

The annual contracts will be signed on August 31.
"The objective of signing performance contracts is to ensure that you take your daily activities seriously, which is critical for us to take this organisation to another level, socially and economically,” Rwarakabije told his staff members.
He called upon chief warders of prisons across the country, who attended the meeting, to execute their duties with the highest degree of discipline and integrity, which he said, would set an example to their subordinates.
He encouraged them to respect the rules and regulations governing RCS and to be innovative in their work.
Rwarakabije urged them to prioritise the welfare of inmates and nurture them to be responsible citizens after they complete their sentences.
He further disclosed that RCS would work closely with other institutions to speed up the completion of inmates’ cases, saying that it would help decongest the prisons.
RCS was recently established following the merger of National Prison Services and the Works for General Interest (TIG) program.
