Human Resource Managers in the East Africa region and beyond will meet in Kigali next month to discuss and share best practices on human resource management.

The two-day forum, hosted by Rwanda Human Resources Management Association (RHRMA), will bring together human resource professionals, academics, consultants and researchers.

"The forum will give us an opportunity to network with our international and regional colleagues on various aspects of our trade, especially on the emerging strategic role of human resource managers,” said Alice Mugeni, president of RHRMA.

She stated that the summit would provide them with a platform to understand the strategic role of human resource and how to position themselves in an organisation to gain the required visibility and be effective.

The convention, which aims at establishing the current status of talent in Africa and the emerging challenges, will be held under the theme "Talent and Engagement.”

Mugeni stated that they expect to learn the implications of various labour laws in the East African Community and its impact on talent management with a view of speaking with one voice as the community harmonises.

The meeting is organised by CIAR Africa, a leading professional and corporate training company in the region and supported by human resource associations from EAC member states.
