Calls, over the weekend, for the business community to be more tax compliant should continue.

Rwanda has a target to reduce donor aid and be self reliant. Looking at the statistics on revenue collection, this is within reach. The business community, however, ought to understand what the targets are and their role in meeting the target.

We have heard several reports where tax payers are looking for loop holes to evade tax. But, if they fully understand what the taxes are used for and the declaration process is streamlined, I have no doubt that the number of defaulters will go down.
