THE national women volleyball team departs for Nairobi today to compete in the 2012 Africa Nations Championships.

The week-long tournament, which throws off tomorrow, will be jointly staged at Nazarene University and Brookhouse International School.

With a ticket to the 2012 FIVB World Championships in Japan up for grabs, the team’s head coach Vincent Nsengiyumva said, "The team has had ample training and should do well. Of course Kenya will be the team to beat.”

Some of the other teams in the fray include Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, Cameroon, Uganda, Botswana, Senegal, Seychelles, Ethiopia and Tunisia.
