A security guard, Wednesday night, shot and injured one of four suspected robbers who attempted to break into the premises of Electricity, Water and Sanitation Authority (EWSA) in Musanze.

The victim identified as Hard Nsengimana, was shot in the stomach and is currently in critical condition at Ruhengeri Hospital.

The guard attached to Intersec, reportedly fired at the thugs as they attempted to ride away with motorcycles parked within the EWSA’s office premises.

The District Police Commander, Supt. Vincent Kamanzi, said police would study the circumstances under which the shooting occurred as a manhunt for the other three thugs ensues.

He added the security guard was summoned by police to record a statement.
