AMAVUBI are likely to be without the services of Abouba Sibomana and Eric Ndahayo for next month’s 2012 Africa Nations Cup return leg qualifier against Ivory Coast in Kigali.

It is said that both players limped off during one of the team’s training sessions and it is unclear if they will be fit for the crucial tie.

Amavubi head coach Sellas Tetteh said yesterday, "Sibomana has a thigh injury while Ndahayo is nursing an ankle injury.”

"For now, it is unclear when they will be back but we are hoping for the best because they are key players to this set-up,” the Ghanaian said.

While the Proline pair of Charles Mwesigye Tibingana and Andrew Buteera is expected to join camp early next week, the likes of Bokota Labama, Elias Uzamukunda, Haruna Niyonzima, Patrick Mafisango and Mao Kalisa are expected to arrive towards the end of this month.

Rwanda’s qualification chances hang on a thin thread after three defeats (Ivory Coast (0-3), Benin (0-3) and Burundi (1-3), in four matches.

The team is currently at the foot of Group H with three points and needs to win their remaining qualifiers (Ivory Coast and Benin) to revive their chances.

The Elephants, who beat Israel 4-3 in Wednesday’s friendly, sit at the helm of the group with 12 points and have already qualified for next year’s tournament which will be jointly held in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

Benin and Burundi are tied on four points although the West Africans enjoy a superior goal difference.
