I wish to commend the authorities for commissioning the ongoing investigations into the alleged mismanagement and embezzlement of funds belonging to the Rwanda Athletics Federation.

Reports have been  rife about alleged mismanagement and complaints by junior officials. It’s important that we get to the bottom of the matter.

And, if top officials are found to have acted unprofessionally, they should resign and a new team takes over.

The country and supporters are investing a lot in sports development it is simply unacceptable for the efforts to be abused by unethical officials.

I hope that the Police and the independent audit team set up by the National Olympic Committee will keep the public informed about the developments.
