I would like to react to a story that was published on 29th-02-2008 entitled: "Woman petitions mayor over closed cinema hall”.

The allegations in the story indicate that the cinema hall was closed by the Muhoza executive secretary Amiel Ndahiro due to ethnic segregations, and corruption.

The reporter also claimed that Ndahiro was transferred from Huye because corruption tendencies. On this note we would like to inform you that Ndahiro was transferred because of his good work record.

All these allegations are not true and I would like to clarify that the cinema hall was closed basing on the resolutions from two Muhoza sector advisory council meetings (dated 14/08/2008 and 5/04/2007) and Sector security committee (17/10/2008).

The decisions were taken on grounds that the entrepreneur didn’t abide by the regulations and after close evaluation of its activity, it was found that infants below age were frequenting the place.
