BUGESERA - The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Denis Polisi, yesterday, disclosed that in less than a month, Parliamentary proceedings will be aired live on radio.
Polisi reiterated that the introduction of live radio broadcasts will help link the House to the public.
During a one-day retreat in Gashora, Bugesera district, on Monday, the Lawmakers discussed how to overcome communication lapses which have not only limited public participation in House affairs, but have also fuelled negative perceptions about how parliamentary business is conducted.
"The radio project is one of the means to let the public appreciate Parliamentary business and increase their participation, especially when giving views,” Polisi said.
The Lawmakers also resolved that the Parliament’s website would be upgraded to be more attractive, interactive as well as updated more frequently.
