RWANDA’S rally champion Christakis Fitidis has pulled out of next month’s African Rally Championship to be staged in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Fitidis, who finished second in the Uganda Pearly rally last month told Times Sport that he has considered not competing in the Tanzanian Kobil rally because of what he referred to as "sound reasons”.

He said, "ARC is not respecting the regulations of the sport. I experienced some unethical acts during the Uganda Pearly rally and it is for this reason that I won’t compete in Tanzania.”

"I will wait and compete in the Mt. Gorilla rally and since there will be FIA officials in the country, I will take this opportunity to expose them so as to save this sport,” added Fitidis.

Fitidis stressed that in the previous ARC rally, officials never respected the regulations governing the sport and he thinks for the sport to be professional and more enjoyable, rules have to be respected.

Meanwhile, six Tanzania rally drivers are among the 17 who have so far registered to feature in the Tanzania rally.Of the foreigners who will be traveling to Dar es Salaam include holder James Whyte, who will be navigated by Phil Archenoul in their Subaru Impreza N10.

Others are Madagascar team duo of R. Jean Yves/R. Rila and Frederic Rakotomanga/Adam Yachine. Foreign entries have been extended to Brazil, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Uganda.

The event will be competed in excess of 450 kilometers and Mlimani city is the starting and finishing point.
