Olivier Karekezi and Jimmy Mulisa have agreed personal terms to join APR for two year deals, the club’s Secretary General Adolphe Kalisa has confirmed.

Karekezi, 28, who has been on the books of Swedish second division side Östers IF, is expected in the country late this month, while Mulisa will join before the league kicks off on September 17.

APR has already made two signings in the transfer window, after snapping up Ugandan Internationals Dan Wagaluka and Habib Kavuma.

Kalisa told Times Sport yesterday that the club will officially confirm all their transfer signings on Friday. Both Karekezi and Mulisa started their careers with the military side before setting off for the paid ranks after sterling for the Amavubi Stars at the 2004 Nations Cup finals in Tunis.

Meanwhile, Kalisa also confirmed that the club is looking for a new assistant coach to replace Eric Nshimiyimana, who was sacked for allegedly using juju (witchcraft) while on duty with national team in Bujumbura. He’s the assistant to Sellas Tetteh.

"There are many players that we are talking to and we shall release an official statement later this week. Karekezi and Mulisa have agreed to join us. We are also looking for an assistant coach to replace Nshimiyimana,” Kalisa said yesterday.

Despite the military side chasing the Rwandan duo, Tetteh has ignored both players in the provisional squad to face Ivory Coast.

The champions are understood to be talking to players like Burundi’s Papy Fatty, Thiery Gaseruka and Bokungu Ndjori. APR are schedule to start pre-season training next week.
