Regulate church noise

Dear Editor,

Every Sunday one wakes up to noise emanating from different makeshift churches either calling people to church or people preaching on top of their voices.

What makes it worse is that these preachers use loudspeakers. Whereas everyone has a right to worship his/her God, they should also take into consideration the rights of others who use Sunday as a break from the stress of work.

This problem is rampant all around Kigali’s suburbs especially the Remera area. The men and ladies who preach the gospel and their flock should understand that Gods message does not have to be noisy to have an effect.

It is also possible that some people who are not involved with religion are having their privacy invaded by the noise from the born again churches.

Night clubs have noise regulating mechanisms and I want to suggest that the people running these born again churches should put in place sound proof mechanisms to regulate the noise that emanates from their preaching houses.
